Coughing can do damage....

The winter is here and the cold is near!! Being sick is never fun, nor is it good for your voice! Coughing can do real damage to your cords. If you've got a cough, there's not much you can do to stop it. If you try to cough with your mouth closed, then that can help.

Whispering and Talking...

If you whisper it can do more damage to your voice than you think. Singing isn't actually bad for your voice. Of course if you use your voice in an aggressive and incorrect way, you are more at risk of damaging it. Talking can also damage your voice, I suffer from that. Talking actually puts more strain on your cords than singing. If only I could sing my conversations, then my voice would be better off. :)

Gargling salt water really works!! Salt water acts as a natural cleanser and prevents the growth of bacteria. Too much salt water is not good, the water shouldn't be a strong salty taste, just enough that you can taste the salt. It's worth trying this if you are suffering from a sore throat. 👌👍

Vocal Warm ups...

Vocal warm ups are a singer's best friend! It's important to exercise your vocal cords. Without doing so, could lead to harming them. Safe not sorry! 👌
